Trafford Information
Altrincham, Sale, Stretford and Urmston are the larger towns which together with their surrounding villages of Partington, Carrington, Warburton and Dunham Massey collectively make the Borough of Trafford.
Geographically located between Manchester city centre to the North and Cheshire to the South, Trafford has a population of over 210,000 and rising, it is one of the most affluent areas of Greater Manchester.
Shopping has helped put Trafford on the map with the Trafford Centre built back in 1998 the centre has over 35m visitors a year making it one of the busiest shopping malls in the UK, and with the newly redeveloped town centres of Urmston and Altrincham which offer a good mix of independent retails and high street brands and the traditional town markets.
Trafford is world famous for sport being home to Manchester United Football Club and Lancashire Cricket Club, also the area has some more diverse sporting facilities including Chill Factore and soon to open is the new Airkix indoor wind tunnel to emulate sky diving.
